Atlin

The rain chased me out of Anchorage all the way to British Columbia. I finally found a dry patch in Atlin.

Atlin is a small (tiny) town on the shore of Atlin lake in British Columbia. It started during the gold rush years of the late 19 early 20 centuries and turned into a tourist destination due to its magnificent scenery. At one point it had 10,000 people, but now it is down to 200 residents, most are gone during the winter.

Along the way from Anchorage I stopped on the Tok Cutoff road in Alaska

Wildlife along the way.

Fabulous photos as always! You are quite a ways from the Alaska Hwy. It looks like you can’t go south on Hwy 7, you have to backtrack to 1 and then continue on home?

Are you taking lots of side routes?
