Chronologically, this trip happened before Ramon Crater, but for various reasons it didn’t get posted in time.
Timna Valley is the site of biblical time copper mines. The history is long and complex and beyond the scope of this blog entry. Today it is a park with many points of interest, both of historical and natural type. Our goal was to hike and explore the views. By connecting several trail one can circle the entire valley, and the highlight was the vista point at Mt Berech about 850 meter above the valley floor.
We also hike near by in Eilat Mountains, most notably, the Red Canyon.
Thanks Ron. Great formations. Also looks rather exciting at times.
Thanks, Ron, I always enjoy your posts.
Thanks Ronny,
