Houses in the Tucson area are built right up to the park boundary, but still, it feels quite remote when visiting. Despite it being a desert, the vegetation is quite tall which blocks the view of the city, for the most part. Of course the most remarkable feature is the saguaro cactus that grows everywhere.
Beautiful. I remember going to that park and being struck by the otherworldliness of it. Fortunately I wasn’t struck by the rattlesnake we heard rattling near the path!
There were no rattlesnakes this time. Maybe they are all social distancing?
