This yellow warbler was singing its heart out as I was walking on a levee along the Richardson Highway near Donnelly, Alaska. At first I was concerned about the scene being backlit, but when I got back there later he was nowhere to be found. Now I think that the light coming through the leaves adds interest to the image.
There is nothing like sunset light to highlights the details of this house finch. It makes it look like a dinosaur. McPhee Reservoir, Dolores, Colorado.
In Valdez, AK, I arranged a boat tour to photograph wildlife. My captain, Josh, took us to a small cove off Valdez Bay where the water was calm and quiet. We were able to get close enough to the eagles perched on trees along the shore.
This bald eagle was having its salmon dinner right along the Susitna River. We were on a boat tour from Talkeetna, Alaska.
This black bear was eating the dandelions right along the road, Sun Point, Glacier NP, Montana.
This coastal brown bear (grizzle) was looking for fish in the Penguin Creek near Anchorage Alaska.
Humpback whales blowing bubbles to drive the fish to the surface, where they can easily feed on them. The seagulls are just free riding joining the feast, Seward, Alaska.
