Talking about Yellowstone, one thinks of the Old Faithful geyser, but The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River is perhaps the most interesting feature and after all, the park is named for it.
Yellowstone National Park is known for its geysers and its wildlife, and it is most interesting to find both at the same place as in the photo below.
While the geysers get most of the attention, some of the other thermal features are very photographic. Here is Grand Prismatic Spring with people walking on the elevated planked walkway.
It is a 4 mile hike to get to Imperil Geyser. It is not as big as the ones closer to the highway, but it erupts continuously.
The sun seems to rise straight out of Yellowstone Lake to illuminate the thermal features of West Thumb Geyser area.
